My husband and I moved into Dilton Marsh in August 2018. We had been visiting the area for 2 days every week since 2012 to spend time caring for our 2 grandchildren who were both born and live in Frome with our daughter and her husband. I joined the PC in 2020. I’m honoured to have been elected Chair of DMPC for the year ahead.

I worked in the NHS for 34 years before retiring from my post as Specialist Heath Visitor for Substance Misusing Families. We were also Foster Carers for very young children and babies for 10 years after retirement.

I have a keen interest in village life, I love the idea of improving the environment with projects like the pollen corridor, the new community orchard and following my roots continue to want to help the people around me. Once a nurse/carer always a need to care.

When I have time I enjoy walking our pooch, reading, knitting and completing various crafts along with volunteering for Cats In Distress Working Cats Program.

I have lived locally to Dilton Marsh all my life, moving to the village in 2009. I am married and we have a son together. As an individual and as a family we spend lots of time outdoors enjoying countryside pursuits, I like pottering in our garden growing flowers and vegetables as well as craft making

I joined the parish council in November 2017 and try my best to have a active role, getting involved with what I can, especially with tasks that will make a difference and have a positive impact on the parish.

I moved to Dilton Marsh in 2009, some 35 years after joining the RAF.  Previously I had followed the Flag and lived in more places that I can remember, but having strong links to the West Country the plan was always to settle here eventually.  After retiring from the Service in 2012 I ran 2 small businesses at the same time for the next 8 years, and now that I only work 2 days a week I have more time for other activities including voluntary work.  Previously I volunteered with the Royal Aeronautical Society for more than a decade and was a member of their Council; since 2018 I have been a trustee of SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.  I am passionate about protecting our wonderful rural way of life while also making sure that the Village evolves, but only in the way that residents want it to.  I am particularly concerned that we respect the environment and protect the character of the village.

I moved to Dilton Marsh over 40 years ago from Essex, and have loved the life here from the start. To begin with I was still working at the British Museum but quickly decided that I also wanted to work here. After working for the National Trust, first at Lacock then Bath I changed jobs a few times then settled at a solicitors in Westbury where I stayed for 32 years until my retirement. I love reading, history, crafting, wildlife and now wonder how I ever found time to work full time.

I recently moved to Tower Hill in Dilton Marsh, having been in Warminster for a number of years. I'm not local born and bred - I've lived in various parts of the country, but have been in Wiltshire for more than 20 years now - so I guess I'd say I'm settled now, and I couldn't imagine living in a city by choice now. Professionally I started out as a Marine Engineer, but my career morphed into software - and more specifically managing software testing. I've been doing that for quite a while now and still get a kick out of doing it, and both learning from and influencing the new trends that come around. On a personal basis, I love being out and about - favourite hobby is photography, although that's taken a bit of a back-seat recently as I have a lot of DIY projects to sort. I'm looking forward to being a councillor and serving my community to the best of my abilities. If I had to categorise myself, I'd say I'm closer to 'easy-going' than to 'high-maintenance' - and I'm always happy to listen - so when you see me around, please feel free to say 'Hi' and have a chat.

I have been a resident of Dilton Marsh for almost 8 years having previously lived in South Wales and the West Midlands. I have been married to my wife Jenny for almost 51 years and we share our home with our dog Button and our 2 Bengal cats, Aanya and Tigi.

I am retired, having served in the fire service for 30 years, 16 years in the West Midlands and 14 years in South Wales. When I retired from the fire service, Jenny and I set up our own business doing fire risk assessments and fire safety training. I retired completely in 2023.

I grew up in Warminster, and moved back to Wiltshire, Dilton Marsh, in 2001, after 28 years in Newcastle upon Tyne. My working life was varied, from librarianship, through data managing of cancer trials, to IT manager in Newcastle University’s Careers Service, with a break of several years of child rearing!

In 2025 I began volunteering in the Accessibility Hub at the National Trust’s Stourhead estate. I am also involved with the Dilton Marsh Community Orchard.

My husband and I have four young grandchildren, two in London and two in Denmark. I’ve had great fun knitting endless jumpers for them all. Gardening is one of my favourite occupations, particularly raising new plants from seeds and cuttings. We both enjoy birdwatching and orchid hunting, but we don’t take either activity very seriously!
