Project Gigabit Voucher Scheme

Published: 24 April 2026

The scheme is an element of the Project Gigabit scheme being supported by Building Digital UK which is a government initiative to try to ensure that 99% of UK premises have access to high speed digital communications by 2032.

Reaching this 99% requires investment from the various network providers but there are some areas - notably rural ones - where this is more difficult to achieve. The aim of the Project Gigabit Voucher Scheme is to make it more attractive to the suppliers to deliver this network capability. Within Dilton Marsh there are currently 36 properties that are listed as 'Not Planned' for connectivity, and these properties are potentially eligible to participate in the Voucher scheme.

There are various requirements that need to be met, one of which is that the suppliers need to be interested in participating in the Gigabit Voucher Scheme. For Wiltshire overall there are 3 potential suppliers. We're writing to all 3 suppliers to see which of them might be interested in helping deliver high speed digital to these properties. As soon as we hear more, we will update you.
