Playing field hedgerow maintenance morning 1/5/26

During the session, we cleared the long grass and tidied the area around the remaining shrubs. New plants were added to fill the gaps, then watered, mulched, and fitted with protective guards to support their recovery.

Dilton Marsh Parish Council gives thanks to the volunteers whose hard work and positive spirit made the morning an enjoyable success.

It has now become clear that the harm caused to a significant number of shrubs along the rear fence line was deliberate. Many were found cut cleanly at the base with a sharp tool, indicating intentional vandalism.

The hedgerow and surrounding playing field will now be closely monitored, and any further acts of damage will be reported to the police.
