Gigabit Voucher Scheme - Parish update - July 2026

The actual number is less than the expected 36 as some are already included in supplier plans for infrastructure delivery, however the latest information we have is not entirely positive. Having communicated with the 3 main providers, 1 has not responded and 2 have said they are not considering any other work outside their current commitments (so basically would not realistically support the Voucher Scheme in our area).

The places which are currently missed are most likely classed as 'urban' and therefore currently fall outside the Government's BDUK remit.

However the remit of BDUK in relation to these properties is now under review, and we are hoping to get a response in the next few months which may then see these locations included. 

In the meantime to help inform the review, we suggest that anyone who is currently finding they cannot access a provider that can give them high speed broadband registers an enquiry as soon as possible. This will help inform the review process.

There's lots of useful information on here but scroll down the page until you see the Digital Wiltshire 'Mapping Portal'. There's a section that tells you what the different colour coding means and there's also a short video on how to use the portal.

Once you've looked at the video , then go onto the portal itself and find your address using your postcode. This will show the 'current plan status' for your address (as a colour code). This will then tell you whether you are included in current plans or not.

If you are not, and want to register an enquiry then go back to the main page, scroll down a little further to 'Enquiries' and click on the link to complete the survey. Add all your info to the form and then add a request to your enquiry – such as 'Can I ask when access for fibre to the premises – FTTP - upgrade is planned to be available for my address'. Then click submit.
